Product questions
Frequently Asked Questions about the SkiErg
How much space and ceiling height do I need?
The device measures 130 cm in length × 60 cm in width × 215 cm in height. The footprint is therefore small, but the height of 215 cm is crucial — especially in cellars and basements, measure carefully beforehand to ensure there is enough clearance at the top. For arm movement, you should plan for some free space on the sides.
How does the resistor work?
About air resistance with a wind wheel that can be adjusted in 10 levels. In addition, you determine the intensity through your pace: the harder and faster you pull, the higher the resistance — from a relaxed endurance pace to maximum HIIT intervals, without having to change anything.
Which muscles does the SkiErg train?
The double-poling movement from cross-country skiing activates the upper body, core, and legs simultaneously: the latissimus, triceps, shoulders, abs, and back pull, while the legs and glutes stabilize. This makes it an efficient full-body endurance machine for strength endurance and conditioning in a single workout.
Is the workout easy on the joints?
Yes. The movement is fluid and low-impact — unlike running, there are no hard shocks to the knees, hips, or back. The consistent air resistance guides you smoothly through the movement, which also makes the SkiErgometer suitable for rehab, conditioning, and joint-friendly endurance training.
Who is the SkiErg suitable for?
For beginners and ambitious athletes alike: Since you determine the intensity yourself through the pulling force, beginners train at an easy pace and advanced users at their performance limit — on the same machine. Suitable for endurance, strength endurance, intervals, and functional fitness, in the gym as well as the home gym.
Does the device have a training computer?
The SkiErgometer has a monitor to display your workout data, but no touchscreen. It shows you the essential metrics for your training; it is not designed for app connectivity or touch operation. For classic, focused endurance training, this is completely sufficient.
Can the SkiErgometer be folded or stored?
It is not foldable — it stays in its upright position. Thanks to the integrated transport wheels, you can easily tilt it and roll it to the side. With a width of just 60 cm and a length of 130 cm, it requires very little floor space when upright anyway.
How much body weight does the device support?
The ski ergometer can support up to 200 kg, making it suitable for practically every user. The stable floor stand remains securely in place even during powerful, dynamic pulls.
SkiErg or rowing machine — which is better?
Both train the entire body with air resistance. The SkiErg trains in a standing position with a vertical pulling movement and places high demands on the core and shoulders; the AirRower works in a seated position and gets more out of leg extension. Anyone who wants variety while standing and a strong upper-body stimulus will make the right choice with the SkiErgometer.
Does a floor protector protect both the appliance and the surface underneath?
Yes, a protective mat is recommended: it protects parquet or tiles from pressure marks, dampens noise, and keeps the appliance securely in place. Suitable is the Connect+ Floor. Especially on smooth surfaces, this additionally increases stability.
