HiTemp Bumper Plates – Highest quality for maximum training intensity
The HiTemp Bumper Plates offer the highest quality and are specially designed for intensive training. The fully rubberized surface encloses a robust metal core and thus ensures exceptional durability. These plates are ideal for dropping weights as they optimally absorb the impact energy, protect the floor covering and reduce noise - perfect for use in studios and home gyms.
The specially developed rubber compound makes these bumper plates not only hard-wearing, but also robust enough for outdoor use, so that they can play to their strengths even in demanding conditions. They remain hard-wearing and durable, even without additional mats or protection. Even more stable and durable than conventional bumper plates - practically indestructible!
The precisely manufactured inner ring with 51 mm hole diameter ensures a secure hold on all standard 50 mm dumbbell bars. The different weight levels can be identified quickly and easily thanks to the color coding.
Available in weights from 5 kg to 25 kg.
Product questions
Frequently Asked Questions about the HiTemp Bumper Plates
Can I drop the weights?
Yes — that is exactly what bumper plates are made for. The fully rubberized surface absorbs the impact, protects the floor and the barbell, and reduces noise. The HiTemp plates are built to be particularly robust and can withstand frequent dropping from overhead positions during deadlifts and Olympic weightlifting.
Is the price per piece or per pair?
The price is per item (starting from CHF 20). For even loading of the barbell, you need each plate twice—simply set the quantity to 2, 4, or more above.
Do the plates fit my barbell?
Yes, if your bar has a 50 mm sleeve. The stainless steel inner ring with a 51 mm hole diameter fits securely on all standard Olympic 50 mm barbells and curl bars. They are not suitable for 30 mm bars.
What weights and colors are available?
Five levels, each color-coded according to international standards: 5 kg white, 10 kg green, 15 kg yellow, 20 kg blue, and 25 kg red. This allows you to recognize the weight immediately by its color—handy for quick changes during training.
Do all disks have the same diameter?
Yes. All weights have a uniform outer diameter of 45 cm — meaning the bar is always at the same standard height regardless of the weight. Only the thickness increases with the weight: from 30 mm for 5 kg up to 100 mm for 25 kg.
What is the difference compared to cast iron weight plates?
Bumper plates are fully rubberized and drop-resistant—you can drop the loaded barbell in a controlled manner. Cast iron dumbbell plates are more compact and cheaper, but not meant for dropping. For Olympic lifting, CrossFit, and deadlifts, you use bumper plates; for machines and bench pressing, cast iron plates are enough.
HiTemp, colored, black or competition — which one fits?
The HiTemp are the particularly robust, color-coded all-rounders with the best price-performance ratio and are even suitable for outdoor use. The colored bumper plates are the color-coded standard for training, the black rely on a simple, uniform design. The Competition Bumper Plates made of urethane, are IWF-compliant, odorless, and particularly slim — for competition and high-performance training.
Can I also drop the light 5 and 10 kg plates?
It is best to let thin, light plates drop only from a properly loaded barbell — not individually from an almost empty barbell, otherwise they will bounce back hard. While the HiTemp plates are very durable, this rule protects every bumper plate and your equipment.
Do I need a floor underneath?
Bumper plates absorb the impact on their own, but for heavy, repeated dropping, a drop zone is recommended. Ideally, a Weight Lifting Platform or a robust one Connect+ Floor — this protects the underbody and bumper and keeps the noise down.
How do I store the bumper plates?
Best of all standing on a ring cone — that keeps them sorted, ready to hand and protects the rings. Fitting is the bumper plate rack. This way the plates do not lie flat on the floor and you can find every weight immediately.
