The price is per piece, not per square meter. For CHF 9.– you get a single mat measuring 50 × 50 cm. For an area of around 1 m², you need four of them. Edge and corner pieces are not included in the delivery.
For clean outer edges, insert the matching edge trim for floor mat 0.8 cm (F-96558) — as a straight piece or as a corner termination, CHF 3 each.
What does a 0.8 cm thick rubber mat under the equipment do?
It creates a solid protective layer between the exercise equipment and the floor. The rubber absorbs pressure points, scratches, and abrasion. Parquet, laminate, screed, and tiles underneath remain undamaged. At the same time, the mat dampens impact sound and vibrations. This is especially important in the basement, upper floors, and apartments. The surface is slip-resistant, so you stand securely even during lateral lunges. At 2.1 kg per tile, the laid surface stays right where you put it. A single mat measures 50 × 50 cm.
Where can you use the 50 × 50 cm fitness floor?
Wherever a firm, non-slip surface is needed. Typical uses include the free weight area in a home gym, the space under a rowing machine or exercise bike, the mobility and stretching area, as well as equipment areas in physio and rehab rooms. Club and school rooms, hobby rooms, garages, laundry rooms, and storage areas are also suitable — and many other areas besides. Because you connect them freely, you determine the shape and size yourself. Eight mats create an area of around 2 m².
What load is the 0.8 cm mat designed for?
Focused on protection and stability, not deep cushioning. 8 mm of rubber is a thin, hard layer. It reliably absorbs pressure, abrasion, and scratches. It is not a drop zone for heavy dumbbells from waist height. Anyone dropping bumper plates from a lift will clearly notice the difference compared to a thick plate. Anyone looking for a flat, resilient surface under equipment and feet will find this just right. The design is deliberately low-profile: 8 mm installation height, with barely any height difference from the rest of the floor.
How do you lay the puzzle mats without tools?
You interlock the mats via the teeth, completely without glue. The substrate must be clean, dry, and level. Start in a corner and continue row by row. The interlocking holds the surface together, and its own weight keeps it in place. For straight outer edges, attach the matching edge trim. You need exactly one corner piece for each corner of your surface. To store them, you simply detach the tiles again and stack them.
How many mats do I need for my area?
| 2 m² (mobility or stretching zone) | 8 mats |
| 4 m² (weight bench or cardio machine) | 16 mats |
| 6 m² (rack area in the home gym) | 24 mats |
| 9 m² (basement room approx. 3 × 3 m) | 36 mats |
| 12 m² (small training room) | 48 mats |
If you are between two values, round up to the next higher mat count—otherwise, opened rows and cuts at wall edges will eat up the reserve.
