Are you planning a free weight area with heavy dropping? Then combine the role as a base area with the Connect+ floor made of 20 mm solid rubber for the area under the rack and bar. You can find additional thicknesses and formats in the Fitness protective floor mats.

What can I use the 6 mm rubber flooring for?

Wherever a large area needs to be protected quickly and made non-slip. Typical uses include the equipment area with a treadmill, bike, or rowing machine, the area under weight stations and racks, the dumbbell and kettlebell area in a home gym, as well as warm-up and mobility zones. Physio rooms, club and school rooms, garage gyms, and basements are also included — along with many other areas where the underlying floor should be preserved. The 12 m² per roll are enough for a complete room measuring roughly 4 × 3 m.

What is the 6 mm design intended for?

Focused on surface area and protection, rather than maximum impact absorption reserve. 6 mm of rubber lies flat and low-trip in the room, keeps scratches, abrasion, and equipment feet away from the subfloor, and noticeably absorbs vibrations and impact sound. Anyone looking to equip rooms inexpensively and quickly across the entire surface will find this to be the exact right choice. Anyone repeatedly dropping heavy barbells from hip height will clearly notice the difference compared to 20 mm solid rubber — which is why thicker flooring is typically installed selectively in those spots.

How do I install the castors correctly?

Roll out, align, let it settle, then cut to size. Roll out the sheet in the room and give it a few hours so the rolling tension releases and the edges lie flat. Afterwards, cut to size using a sharp utility knife and a metal straightedge — 6 mm takes two to three passes. When using multiple sheets, place the 1.2 m wide strips butt-jointed next to each other. Plan for 5 to 10 percent waste.

What do I need to know about the subfloor?

Concrete, screed, tiles, and sealed wood are uncritical; soft PVC and vinyl are not. Components can migrate between rubber and plasticizer-containing flooring and leave permanent stains that can no longer be removed. On such floors, you place a separating layer underneath or test beforehand for several days on a hidden spot. The substrate should also be clean, dry, and free of grains of sand so that nothing chafes from underneath.

How many rolls do I need for my area?

Up to 12 m² (e.g., 4 × 3 m) 1 roll
Up to 24 m² (e.g., 6 × 4 m) 2 rolls
Up to 36 m² (e.g., 6 × 6 m) 3 rolls
Single appliance zone (e.g., 2.4 × 2 m) 1 roll, rest as reserve
Studio or club space starting from 48 m² 4 rolls and more

If you are between two values, round up: Experience shows that waste at doors, niches, and pillars costs 5 to 10 percent of the area.

Product questions

Frequently asked questions about the 6 mm rubber floor roll

Is the price per roll or per square meter?
The price of CHF 250 is for the complete roll with 12 m². That corresponds to around CHF 21 per square meter. It is delivered as a continuous sheet 10 m long and 1.2 m wide. If you need more area, simply increase the quantity above.
What mass and weight does the roll have?
The roll measures 10 m × 1.2 m with a thickness of 6 mm, covering an area of 12 m². It weighs 75 kg, which is a good 6 kg per square metre. To install it, you roll it out in one piece and then cut it to fit your room dimensions.
What material is the floor made of and how do I clean it?
The floor is made of medium-hardness rubber and can be wiped damp. Water and a mild detergent are sufficient for cleaning. Oils, greases, and solvent-based agents attack rubber and must not be used on the surface. [CHECK: exact granulate composition with the manufacturer]
Can I cut the roll myself?
Yes, you cut 6 mm rubber with a sharp utility knife and a metal straightedge in two to three passes. For example, four strips of 2.5 m or five of 2 m can be made from one roll. Plan for 5 to 10 percent waste.
Do I have to glue the floor down?
Loose installation is sufficient if the track lies against walls and is subjected to static loads. For tensile loads, carriage work, or rolling equipment, you must secure the joints with double-sided tape or bond the entire surface. Adhesive is not included in the scope of delivery.
Can I lay the rubber flooring on parquet, vinyl, or PVC?
You can install directly on concrete, screed, and tiles; on soft PVC and vinyl, you need a separating layer. Plasticizers can migrate between the rubber and the flooring and leave permanent discoloration. Test beforehand for several days in a hidden spot.
What color will be delivered to me?
The roller is supplied in a fixed version; there is no color selection available here. Currently, two color values are stored in the attribute tab. [CHECK: define binding color version and correct the attribute before the page goes live]
Are 6 mm sufficient for dumbbell and strength training?
6 mm reliably protect the subfloor under racks, power stations, dumbbells, and kettlebells. For repeatedly dropping heavy barbells, the cushioning reserve is thin. For these zones, you build up thicker in specific spots, such as with the Connect+ floor made of 20 mm solid rubber.
Is the floor suitable for treadmills and cardio equipment?
Yes, this is a core application of the 6 mm thickness. The rubber layer decouples appliance feet from the surface, absorbs vibrations and noticeably reduces impact sound in residential buildings. A 12 m² roll is sufficient for several appliances next to each other plus the walkway in between.
How fast is the internet at my place?
The roll will arrive in 1 to 3 working days. Plan some extra time for installation after that: After unrolling, the sheet should lie flat for a few hours so that the rolling tension is released and the edges lie flat.
