The most common misconception: The black and white display doesn't mean you have to do without color-coded zone training. The free Keiser M Series App turns the data from the M Connect display into a Ride by Color™ indicator on your phone or tablet – including colored FTP training zones. The frame, fit for heights from 147 to 213 cm, 4-way handlebars, and mechanics are identical to the Studio Plus. The price difference of CHF 200 affects the display, number of gears, and power supply, not the ride quality.

The bike weighs 42 kg and stands on four points. On parquet, laminate, or vinyl, a protective mat is worthwhile. The Floor protection mat 160 × 87 cm for cardio equipment completely covers the footprint of around 130 × 66 cm.

For what kind of training is the Keiser M3i suitable?

The M3i is built for power-based endurance training where the numbers have to be right. Typical applications include guided group cycling classes with projection, FTP tests and intervals for home training, endurance blocks in winter, the cycling off-season, as well as rehab and longevity sessions. In studios, multiple bikes run in parallel via the M Series Group App. At home, a smartphone on the media tray is all that is needed. Other types of use are possible without any conversion because the display transmits its data openly.

How exactly does the Keiser M3i measure power in watts?

The M3i was the first indoor bike to receive EN-957-10 certification for measurement accuracy and safety. To ensure this, Keiser tests a randomly selected production bike on the test bench every day. That is the difference between an estimated and a measured wattage value. For FTP tests, zone targets, and comparing multiple bikes in a class setting, this is precisely what matters. Without this foundation, zone percentages are just decoration.

What does the M Connect display show while driving?

The M Connect display shows watts, cadence, kilocalories, time, and distance on a black-and-white LCD, along with heart rate, gear, and odometer. Via Bluetooth, it transmits to multiple devices simultaneously—such as to a projection system in the classroom and simultaneously to your phone. You start and stop intervals using the gear shifter without touching the display. The colored zone display on this model is provided by the app, not the display itself.

How does the M3i ride compared to a flywheel bike?

The design is engineered for precision, not brute force. The resistance is magnetic, with no felt brake and no friction point. The flywheel is positioned at the rear and is kept deliberately light. Anyone switching from a heavy flywheel bike will notice this immediately: the pedal stroke carries less momentum on its own and reacts faster to every change in wattage. A screen, tablet, or heart rate monitor is not included. The display works independently and shows watts and cadence even without a mobile phone.
How much space does the bike need and how heavy is it?
The footprint is around 130 × 66 cm, and the height is about 125 cm. The weight is around 42 kg. Two transport wheels on the front allow it to be tilted and pushed by one person. Plan for about 60 cm of clearance for getting on and off. A few centimeters should be added for the backward saddle adjustment.
For what height and weight is it designed?
The V-frame covers body heights from around 147 to 213 cm, and the maximum user weight is 160 kg. Both the saddle and handlebars can be adjusted in height and length, meaning four-way adjustment for each. That is the same adjustment range as in the Keiser M3i Studio Plus.

Does the M3i work with Zwift and other apps?
Yes, the M Connect display transmits cadence, speed, power, and heart rate via Bluetooth to fitness apps and projection systems, and to multiple devices simultaneously. This display does not have ANT+—for that, you need a model with a Studio Display. The resistance is never controlled by the app; you select the gear yourself.
Do I also get a colored zone display with a black-and-white display?
Yes, via the M Series App: It converts the data from the M Connect display into a color-coded, real-time zone display on your phone or tablet. In addition, there is an FTP test, personalized values, and a saved training history. Your device fits perfectly on the media tray of the bike.
Does the display need batteries?
Yes, the M Connect display runs on two AA batteries and does not need a power cord. This means a power connection at the setup location is not necessary. Anyone who wants to avoid changing batteries altogether can choose a model with a Studio Display and pedal generator.
What is the difference between the M3i and the M3i Studio?
Three points: 24 instead of 72 gears, black and white instead of color display, and batteries instead of generator. In return, the M3i has the 4-way handlebars and covers 147 to 213 cm instead of 150 to 188 cm. Anyone over 188 cm is better off riding here than on the Keiser M3i Studio.
When is the bike available?
